‘Panchayat’ Season 3 – Review
CINEMABLIND’S REVIEW – 95%
The TVF Season 3 we have all been waiting for besides Kota Factory Season 3 is finally here and I am really happy to say that it doesn’t disappoint. Yes, I am talking about TVF’s Panchayat Season 3 which is coming back to Prime Video on May 28.
Season 3 will take a bit of a time jump after the gut-wrenching ending of Season 2 in which Prahlad’s son died on duty and Abhishek was handed a transfer letter because of the MLA. Panchayat Season 3 will begin with Abhishek back in the city on leave from his job and preparing for his upcoming exam but some unexpected events land him back in Phulera, serving as the Sachiv in the panchayat office.
The rest of the characters are still reeling from the loss of Prahlad’s son with Prahlad being depressed and turning to alcohol as a solution to his grief. Mr. and Mrs. Pradhan are preparing for the upcoming election in which Banrakas and his wife will be their opposition. Vikas is still the ride-or-die friend we all need, but in this season we get to see more of Rinki and we find out her hopes and dreams.
While Season 3 is as entertaining as Panchayat’s previous two seasons it is also a lot different because it is much more dramatic and filled with action that will surely have a lasting impact. If you are going into Season 3, thinking that it is still the light-hearted series it was for the last two seasons then you might be disappointed because from the very beginning of Season 3, you will feel the difference and the trauma that all of these characters have been through.
The performances of all the actors are brilliant including Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, Raghubir Yadav as Brij Bhushan Dubey, Chandan Roy as Vikas, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi, Faisal Malik as Prahlad Pandey, Ashok Pathak as Vinod, Sunita Rajwar as Kranti Devi, Pankaj Jha as MLA Chandra Kishore Singh, and Sanvikaa as Rinki, but the clear standout of this season has to be Durgesh Kumar‘s Bhushan aka Banrakas.
Chandan Kumar the creator of the series has put a lot of thought into making this season feel different because if we had gone right back into comedy after that hard-hitting Season 2 finale, it wouldn’t have felt right for the characters or the story. While both comedy and drama are present in Season 3 you will also see much more action.
So, in conclusion, Panchayat is back, and it’s better and more shocking than ever. I didn’t think Panchayat could top the Season 2 finale and it didn’t try to but in a different, it exceeded my expectations and what more could I have asked for? In this season you will see much more of Abhishek and Rinki’s slowly developing romantic relationship and much more drama with plenty of laughs.
